Siloed Owners and Accounts for Reporting Purposes
Summary
This article describes the use of unbranded owners to provide hierarchical structure within EngageIPÂ for reporting purposes.
If you need more organizational structure in EngageIP to provide more efficient invoicing / billing or account reports an unbranded owner hierarchy may be suitable.
Scenario
See image below demonstrating how a company could be setup in EngageIP using the unbranded owners and associated options for billing so that one part of the company receives one bill while other parts of the same company receive individual invoices for service.
The example illustrates the top owner which is the overall owner account that may have your company name in place of 'LogiSense Corporation'. From there you would create a new unbranded owner account, beneath which you would create another unbranded owner for those accounts which you want to all bill on one invoice, and then separate parent accounts where you want individual invoices to be created. The unbranded owner called 'Headquarters' below may receive one invoice for combined services such as internet access, whereas the individual parent accounts may house telecom charges separated by geographic location potentially.
For reporting, you can then go to the accounts report or other reports and filter them by owner name which would provide you dedicated reports for Headquarters or for the overall Acme Corporation owner which would have details on all accounts under it.
Headquarters owner would have all charges rolled up to its level on one invoice per period
Parent accounts directly under Acme Corporation owner would have individual invoices
