Summary

The 'Address Format' link on the setup tab allow you to define what type of address information to allow / require on account contacts.

Description

  • Name - this is a basic name of this format, you can have multiple formats, each are related individually to a country

  • Address2 is Required - if selected, the field named 'Address2' on contacts will be a required field

  • State Is Used - if selected, the system will require that a state is defined when entering an address

  • State Predefined - if selected, states will be predefined, which will make the state text box into a dropdown. States are then added to the dropdown via the setup tab under the associated country

  • City Predefined -  if selected, a city dropdown box will be presented, and is populated under Country / State on the setup tab

  • Postal Code Show On Interface - if selected, the postal code (ZIP code) will be presented for data entry on addresses

  • Address Detail Is Used - if selected, the options for extra 911 information such as 'Street North' and finer address details will be presented and required on addresses NOTE: If you are NOT using this but it still shows on 'add account' or other locations, add a  sort order of 0 to one of your countries. Because address format is attached to countries, if you define a default country when you click 'add account', the country will be defaulted and EngageIP will then know what address format to use right off the bat.

  • Pre Validate Address - if selected when adding a Contact to an account and entering a Country a 'Suggest' button will be presented which will suggest Address details based on the Country and Postal/Zip Code entered.  For more information see the Address Verification Configuration article
