Owner Creation in a Tier Sync Environment

Summary

This article describes owner creation when using EngageIP Tier Sync. Tier Sync employs two EngageIP installations that synchronize customer data with each other. This KB will be broken out into two parts, Partner and Admin owner creation.

Partner Side Owner Creation

The general rule for owners on the partner side is that they will be created as branded (exceptions can exist however).

1. Create regular account at top owner level (or under the particular owner required)

2. Promote the account to an owner account. The detail for owners and billing options exists in the article Configuring Branded and Unbranded Owners

   Open

   

   • Check the Branded box

   • Select All Users Below

   • Select the appropriate billing type. Bill Accounts is usually the correct option. This places the invoice at the user level rather than owner level

Admin Side Owner Creation

On the admin side, the general rule is that owners are created as NOT branded (exceptions can exist)

• Create regular account at top owner level (or under particular owner where a specific hierarchy is required)

  Open

  

  • Uncheck Branded box

  • Select All users below for owner level type

  • For billing type generally on admin side you want the invoice to be on the owner account in order to bill wholesale for all the accounts under it. So you would select a Bill Owner option. Taxes can be calculated based on owner address info or customer address info as needed. These options are described in the Configuring Branded and Unbranded Owners article
