Summary

Extended attributes are configured in a similar manner to standard package / service / role profile questions but can be applied to different set of objects in EngageIP. These allow you to collect more detailed and custom information for your customer base, and follow the same general setup as profile questions

The three locations where these items are available are:

  • User Extended Attributes - these Attributes are displayed when adding a new User/Account. After the User is created the User Extended Attribute will appear on the Overview page of the User under the Details heading. As the name suggests these attributes are tied to the User not the Role of the User specifically (Role profile questions are specific to roles)

  • Ticket Extended Attributes - these are displayed on tickets to collect more information / to add custom data fields
    Note: Changes to these profile questions are recorded in the ticket history along with regular ticket updates

  • User Package Extended Attributes - these provide custom data collection related to user-packages but are not tied to specific packages. In other words, if you create a User Package Extended Attribute the Attribute will appear when adding any package to a User/Account

The Attributes above operate at a global level rather then profile questions which are specific to roles, packages or services.

Configuration

  1. Go to the Setup tab

  2. Click the links to any of these above  (these are listed under the section called Configuration)

    • For name, description etc, please ensure only alpha/numeric names are entered. Currently no special characters are supported and may cause report errors or otherwise.
