Hardware Setup and Configuration Requirements

Below are the basic requirements for your hardware installation. It will assume hardware has been specified and purchased as needed. This document will deal with the high level configuration items required prior to installation EngageIP in the environment.

Requirements:

  • Microsoft Windows updates should be applied so that the server is up to date.

  • IIS must be installed on the web server latest updates applied

  • MSSQL must be installed latest updates applied

    • LogiSense will need the username and password to install EngageIP or LogiSense can create  new user as needed

  • RDP access should be granted through any firewalls that exist. This is the preferred method of connection as its an 'out of the box' feature on Windows operating systems and it's a reliable connection method

    • Configuration of RDP connections must allow for multiple users (configuration must be updated to allow multiple logins via the Terminal Services Manager program)

    • To assist in performance, the desktop background should be a flat colour. Images such as the default Dell hardware image require a lot more time to render

    • Firewall access must be granted to allow for connections. The current outside IP address for LogiSense is: 216.16.224.210 (all connection requests can be assumed to be coming from this IP when LogiSense Support is connecting)

  • LogiSense must have administrator rights / privileges in order to  install EngageIP and components as necessary

  • Automatic Windows updates should be turned off and a maintenance plan should be in place to keep the system, MSSQL and other products installed up to date

  • No labels
